Resonare in colore

As much as I love painting, I've nearly always preferred drawing.
Not just because I can set up within seconds and draw anywhere, but also because I feel more comfortable with my drawing qualities.
The 'draw' backs are that I miss out on a world of colour and a different kind of depth, and I loves me some colour.

I haven't painted in a very long time.
I've got a lot to learn about shadowing with colour and other techniques, so I've always stuck to my pencils.
But (and there's always a but), sometimes you come upon something or someone and you feel yourself explode with inspiration.

Mrs Katie has some amazing art pieces both on her blog and Etsy shop, which you should really check out.
The colours filled my wee heart with glee, let alone the gorgeous characters.

And so it is I decided to brave another attempt at water colouring.
At least now I can share with you how I see Echo in my mind.
It's not perfect, but I'm happy with how it turned out, so much so that I want to make paintings for all the main characters to put with their bios.
I'm finishing up Vox as we speak, so hopefully I'll get better as I go.

Ever wandering,
Laury

She looks amazing in colour! I love her facial expression and the background. Can't wait to see more! (And thanks for the shout out).

Thank you and you're welcome :)
I wish I could make the things you do!

I'm saving up for college right now, but as soon as my ever empty wallet fills up I'll be buying some prints :)

I always forget Mrs. Katie is an artist also. I get wrapped up in her blog writings. :)

Echo looks good in color too!

I always had this idea of a more 'purpled' Echo, maybe because of your blogger color scheme, but i think green is much better. It really makes her shine. Love her eyes.

Her eyeshadow is actually dark purple along with her necklace, but it didn't show up on the scanner too well.

Purple is one of my favourite colours, along with turquoise and green, so I suppose it was all sort of combined in Echo (not intentionally though :P )
